"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!

I don't know why I always put off writing journals for so long... but I guess it's good so I don't flood you with stuff that you don't care about anyway, huh? xD
Anyway, you might wonder why I'm not exactly being "active" on deviantart even though I stream more often than I used to and am obviously working on art. Well the thing is, currently most of what I do are book cover illustrations for a small book publisher and I can't really post those online until the book has come out. It's as simple as that. I really like doing cover illustrations, it's such diversified work and really really good practise for me, even if it's not exactly paid too well... it IS paid and it helps me build a portfolio and get some exposure. The figurative foot in the door, since I hope to be doing this for a living soon.
Truth is, I decided a while ago that I would only finish my degree at university to have something and to not have wasted 5 years of my life (though I will never consider my year in Japan a waste, it was one of the best experiences in my life). But I no longer want to find a job in that field, since I realised that what I want to do is art, no matter how poor I'll end up lol... I wish I'd had that determination and the confidence in my skills when I was younger, but I guess it's better late than never? So yeah... my plan for the new future is: Do my last internship in September, finish a few essays and an oral exam in October and then do my thesis and project work during the semester. Hopefully finish uni in January and then begin my life as a full time freelance illustrator. Wish me luck! xD
In other news, my birthday is coming up this Sunday and I'll be turning 25! Holy shit, do I start to feel old... on the other hand 25 is my favorite number and I'm kinda hoping it will be a decisive year in my life (see above). This week is shaping up to be a good one. I'm going to finally get a proper microphone for streaming and maybe making videos (art or game related) again. Very much looking forward to that. My good friends and will be visiting for a day during the week and on the weekend it's party time!!!
And lastly, my current fan-crazes: Pacific Rim!!! Oh good lord, that movie blew my mind! I love every single thing about it. I saw it during the week I was in England, thankfully so I didn't have to watch it in 3D and man, I'm still reeling from it, haha. I managed to get myself the movie novelization as ebook, the art book is on my amazon wishlist and I'm reading every fanfic I can get my hands on. *sigh*
Attack on Titan. Watched and read that a while ago already but still pretty much in love with that manga. The story is so good and full of suspense and plot-twists. It's like Game of Thrones all over again! I can't wait for the next chapter and more questions to be answered and asked.
Star Trek Into Darkness. This one has been going on since the moment I saw the movie in May. It is by far my favorite movie in 2013 (closely followed by Pacific Rim now) and I'm still obessed with it. I found out about a few books that came out in 2010 following the relaunch movie that were about Jim Kirk's time in Starfleet Academy. Bought and devoured those in about a week. Still reading many many fanfictions and I've also started thinking about writing my first own, a crossover (because I love those) with Pacific Rim. Haha, we'll see if it happens. I'm not exactly a writer.
Les Friction. The best music I have had in ages. I found them through an epic trailer montage and have been listening to them non-stop since. They sound kind of like the perfect lovechild of 30 seconds to mars and Immediate Music/Two steps from hell, if you ask me. Throw a little bit of Imagine Dragons in there too. You should absolutely check them out! My favorite songs are World on Fire, String Theory and Louder than Words. So inspiring! *_*
I have yet to find out how one "joins a fandom" for anything. I'm basically nursing all my fangirling craziness by myself right now, trying to spread them to other people, but it feels incomplete! x3 I need people to talk to about this stuff that are as crazy about it as I am, goddamnit! If you're out there, let me know! xD
I've wanted to make another tumblr just for reblogging and following stuff but I'm failing at the supposedly simple task of finding a name for it... so pathetic. ^^°
